The Anti-Catholicism of SDA Pastor Bill Hughes

The follow-up article posted on August 16th is HERE.

I'm here to tell you that all evils in the world
are heavily influenced by the Jesuits, because
the Catholic Church and the Pope are "hell bent
on world domination." - Pastor Bill Hughes

The following article is from The Orlando Truth,
Summer 2017, Issue No. 62.

Arthur Schlesinger Sr. of Harvard University has called anti-Catholicism “the deepest bias in the history of the American people”, even more pernicious than anti-Semitism. During most of American history, anti-Catholicism has been an exceedingly potent force. At least through the early part of the 20th century, and in some quarters even today, Protestants accepted that the Catholic Church was the monstrous creature prophesied in the Biblical Book of Revelation as the “mother of harlots” clothed in purple and scarlet, who held in her hand “a golden cup full of abominations.” The Pope, as its leader, was vilified as the Antichrist. Though now rarely heard in respectable discourse, these ideas have never entirely vanished. Isolated propagandists continue to circulate anti-papal and anti-Catholic mythologies, presenting the Church as the hidden hand behind the world’s governments and financial systems. A major worldwide publisher of such vitriol is headquartered in Eustis, Florida. Their book storage facility and global distribution center is supposedly located on a former Ku Klux Klan (KKK) site in the vicinity of Eustis, Florida. This enterprise, titled TRUTH TRIUMPHANT, is owned and operated by Pastor Bill and Hoda Hughes, who are Seventh Day Adventists. Their absurd slanders could readily be considered unimportant, indeed laughable, and be dismissed without further comment except for the fact that they have become suppliers to a worldwide network of missionaries eager for their lies about the Catholic Church. Theirs is a deadly serious operation with the most sinister overtones, especially because of their appeal to the uneducated, who are least able to ascertain the falsehoods.

Their most significant products at the present time are two books: THE SECRET TERRORISTS published in 2002, and a current update and amplification, THE ENEMY UNMASKED published in 2004.  Naturally the terrorists and the enemy are identified as the Roman Catholic Church; in particular the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) founded by St. Ignatius Loyola in 1540 and controlled directly by papal command. Over 5,000,000 of these books have already been mailed globally to over 100 countries. Pastor Hughes has speaking engagements in various churches in other countries as well as the US to promote the sales of his publications. In addition, these books are mailed directly to the inmates of our Florida prisons, where they foment rage against the Catholic Church. The accusations in these books include:
  •  7 actual and attempted assassinations of American Presidents by Jesuits in order to destroy the United States, because it was founded on the Protestant principles of democracy and capitalism, rather than the hierarchical political principles of the Catholic Church.
  • Sinking the ocean liner TITANIC by its captain, identified as a secret Jesuit, in order to kill influential Americans who were returning from Europe to thwart the implementation of the Federal Reserve Bank of the United States, which would be controlled by the private European Jewish Rothschild banking family (also identified as secret Jesuits) to generate billions of riches for the Vatican Treasury.
  • Fomenting the Russian Revolution by Lenin, Stalin and Trotsky (all secret Jesuits) in order to overthrow the royal Czars. The Czars were claimed to be supporters of the Orthodox Church, which the Pope wanted to eliminate in order to expand Catholicism in that country.
  • Starting World War I to pay back Germany for its opposition to the papacy and the Jesuits and because it was the birthplace of the heretical Lutherans.
  • Starting World War II through its agents of Nazism, including Hitler (a secret Jesuit) in order to exterminate the Jewish religion.
  • Promoting Zionism, a return to a Jewish homeland, by having the United Nations, through its secret Jesuit agents, establish the State of Israel. The Pope wanted the Jews of the World to return to Israel, where they would be entirely surrounded by Arab neighbors, who would destroy them, so that the Pope could move the Papacy from the Vatican to the holy city of Jerusalem.
  • Starting the Vietnam War to kill the Buddhists and expand the Catholic presence in that area.
  • Planning the 9/11 World Trade Center attack in order to facilitate the elimination of civil liberties enjoyed by Americans, through legislation with tyrannical controls on our freedom, such as the Patriot Act.
The sources for these scurrilous accusations include:
  • Charles Chiniquy, a Canadian ex-priest, who in 1885 authored a book, Fifty Years in the Church of Rome, which claimed that the Jesuits, as directed by the Pope himself, were committed to the destruction of Protestant America in order to expand their control here. He had been excommunicated from the Catholic Church in 1858, over 25 years before writing his book. His unsupported claims were completely rebutted by the Catholic Truth Society of London, England in 1908.
  • Alberto Rivera, who claimed to be an ex-Jesuit from the Diocese of Madrid, Spain. Research by the Catholic League of New York shows that there is no record of his ever having been a Catholic priest.
  • Avro Manhattan, a journalist of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), who in 1949 authored a book, The Vatican in World Politics. His defamatory and unsubstantiated claims demonstrated severe personal animosity toward the Catholic Church.
The central thesis of all these defamatory books is that the specific agents of all these crimes are secret members of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), who are given direct orders for their actions by the Pope himself. The Jesuits then carry out their mission in complete obedience to each and every command of the Pope.

The above publications of Pastor Bill Hughes’ ministry are hate-filled incursions against Catholics, in a similar vein to the activities of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which has recently fought to eliminate “Under God” from the pledge of allegiance, the 10 Commandments from a courthouse in Alabama, and the cross from the seal of the City of Los Angeles.  Fortunately, the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights previously monitored this type of activity, when, in its Catalyst magazine, it exposed the nefarious activities of another such ministry, CHICK PUBLICATIONS of California.

The ORLANDO TRUTH is alerting the CATHOLIC LEAGUE in New York to the current anti-Catholicism promulgated by TRUTH TRIUMPHANT for their further action. Hopefully, they can again take up a defense against these slanderous accusations. Pastor Hughes does not teach people to love God; he teaches people to hate the Catholic Church in general, thereby Catholics in particular.

Furthermore, Pastor Hughes makes an opulent living from his hate filled ministry. He lives in a new single family 4,305 square foot house with 6 bedrooms, 4 full baths and one half bath with a market value of $500,000.

In addition he owns several tracts of property worth over $2,000,000.00 in Lake County alone. The Orlando Truth has not investigated other Florida county property records. Public property records can be searched on the Internet legally and free by anyone on the Lake County, Florida Property Records search at https://www.lakecopropappr.com. There are several properties listed under various names: William Hughes, William M Hughes,
William & Hoda Hughes, Hoda Hughes, Joel & Hoda Hughes, Joel Hughes (in Loma Linda, California), Joel A Hughes (Loma Linda) and Truth Triumphant.

Twenty-five years ago Pastor Hughes was asked by the Seventh Day Adventist Church to stop preaching the Three Angels’ Message which includes anti-Catholicism (Angel One – RV 14:6: Has the everlasting gospel to preach to all who are on the earth, "for the hour of his judgement has come." Angel Two – RV 14:8: Babylon the great is fallen because she caused all nations to drink of the wrath of her fornication. Angel Three – RV 14:9: If anyone worship the beast & receives its mark they shall drink of the cup of the wrath of God.) However Hughes refused and went his own way forming his new ministry of hatred – Truth Triumphant. He now calls himself a Seventh Day Sabbath minister and, by his own admission, is no longer a Seventh Day Adventist. Through his “ministry” of hatred and lies, Pastor Hughes has become a very rich man – so much so that it makes one wonder for whose kingdom is he working? Has Pastor Bill Hughes been deceived by the wisdom of the ancient serpent?

  1. The problem is that current Vatican doings are making this all too plausible.

  2. I gotta say this....bergoglio has done NOTHING to dissuade these people of their errors; in fact, he is a very strong argument in their favor. Seriously, I have found the past 4+ years EXTRAORDINARILY hard to evangelize nonCatholics...when they say, "well francis says...", or, "so you're more Catholic than the pope?"....I bite my tongue while thinking,'jeeeeeze, my DOG's more Catholic than this 'pope''.

  3. I agree with both of the above comments, however Bill Hughes has been making his hefty living from hating the Catholic Church for 40 years. To him, the Pope is the anti-Christ, no matter if its JPII, Benedict, or Francis.

Of course he sees no problem with Ellen White as HIS pope! He has tons of YouTube videos and heavily references Ellen White and her various books.

I saw him three times this week at the local Post Office mailing his hate books to Nambia, Zambia and Cameroon.

  4. The hatred of the Catholic Church is based universally on falsehoods and distortions. One need not go far to see examples of this, not only these extremes but the lesser examples distorting Catholic beliefs and practices. At the core of our problems is the great battle between good and evil. The devil has done admirable work in convincing people he does not exist while he works in the shadows to spread hatred and lies.

Truth is the ultimate defense. It is the light that illuminates the darkness of lies and deceit. "Do good to those who hate you" is the admonition of Jesus Christ. Perhaps those who criticize the Catholic Church should look first to the beam in their own eyes.

  5. Why is it that YOU ALL don't go back in time and READ all of the deaths the CATHOLIC church is behind, what makes ANY of you think that times has changed. Why do you think he(the pope) wants one religion? Read your history, I agree with Bro. Hughes

  6. Well, unknown, then you are anti-Catholic too. There have been plenty of evil men in the Catholic Church. Do you think there are no evil men in the Protestant denominations? Read your history and see how Martin Luther favored killing off the peasants. Check out the way the Muslims betrayed treaties and slaughtered Christians.

Those who actually believe and teach what the Church teaches are responsible for hospitals, universities and charities. Of course, you can embrace all the lies of the "Black Legend." But maybe you've never heard of it.http://www.ewtn.com/library/chistory/zcrusade.htm

[1] And God spake all these words, saying,
[2] I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
    [5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
[6] And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
[7] Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

[8] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.(NOT SUNDAY)
[9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[11] For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

[12] Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
    [13] Thou shalt not kill.
[14] Thou shalt not commit adultery.
    [15] Thou shalt not steal.
[16] Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
[17] Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

  8. The best way to hide the truth is to accuse those that tell it of being hateful.

    Bill Hughes is not hateful.
He loves Catholic people. Those that tell you the truth, are the ones that love you.

    ReplyDelete
  9. What if the person making the accusations really IS a bigot who hates the Church?

    ReplyDelete
  10. And how about Bill Hughes telling LIES about Susan Matthiesen on his website? Does he really love Catholics when he LIES about them?

    ReplyDelete
  11. If you listen to Bill Hughes and many others who preach the three angels messages you will see that they do not hate Catholics and are simply speaking against the Roman Papal System not against Catholic people. I believe God left his children with a wonderful book in the Bible and that is what we should follow. The truths contained in the scriptures. There is no other church/state system that fits the anti Christ beast system found in the book of Revelation other than the Roman Papal system. I would urge everyone to pray like never before that the Holy Spirit would guide you into all truth. Jesus is calling his children out of Babylon which is confusion. The Sciptures are our only safeguard against deception and we should trust God over man. We should test everything by the word of God. Who knows how close we are to the return of Jesus. It appears we could be closer than the world might think. Between the race wars and pestilence I would admonish everyone to study and be discerning between the true 7th day Sabbath vs. the false man made Sunday sabbath where there is no scriptural authority. If you see a National and eventual Worldwide Sunday law pray and choose to follow the one true God who created the world in 6 days and then blessed and hallowed the 7th day. Choose to follow God rather than man.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Unknown, it certainly sounds like you follow man rather than God. You talk about the scripture being our "only safeguard." Where did the 73 books of the Bible come from? The books of Moses carried in the Ark of the Covenant were the Law, the nucleus of the Scripture and the sole documents of the Jews. Much later the prophets and other writings were added to complete the Old Testament. The Jewish historian Josephus says no one dared add anything to the Scripture after the death of Ataxerxes in 424 BC. Josephus was writing shortly after the death of Christ. So that's the history of the Old Testament and it is basically the same from that time to this.

Jesus certainly did not hand the apostles a book when He ascended into heaven! The Church He founded preceded the New Testament which consists of the four gospels, the letters of St. Paul, St. Peter, St. John, and the others and the Book of Revelation. These were all loose writings. It was the Catholic Church that compiled the New Testament and made the decision about what to include and what to exclude among other writings. The Council of Carthage in 397 decided the canon of the New Testament. Was there no Church for the first 400 years after Christ because there were no books except the Old Testament and loose writings floating around?

During the Protestant revolution, some of the books were thrown out because the heretics (mostly dissenting Catholic clergy) wanted to get rid of certain doctrines like Purgatory. So they threw out Maccabees because of praying for the dead and made other changes. But the Bible came from the Catholic Church.

As for the Holy Spirit guiding you "into all truth", who is the authority you have if you and another person disagree about interpretation of scripture? Are you each your own pope? Is truth relative so you can both believe the opposite and both be right? Jesus rose on Easter Sunday which is why we keep Sunday as the holy day.

We should all be striving for the truth. Read the Fathers of the Church, St. Augustine, St. Ambrose, and other early Christians. It seems that you are following the man Bill Hughes and not Jesus Christ.

    1. Mary Ann the interpretation of these prophecies as you well know come way before Bill Hughes as far back as the Great Reformation where through the study of the book of Daniel they could clearly see that the little horn power as well as the dreadful beast were none other the Roman Papal system. 2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. The Catholic church is not responsible for the inspiration of the words found in the Holy Bible. My simple hope and prayer is that we would trust the one and only true God through the power of the Holy Spirit to be guided into all truth. There is one God therefore one truth and many have been and are continuing to hear the Sheppard's voice and coming out of Babylon.

      Delete
  13. The "Great Reformation"? The one that tore apart the unity that Jesus prayed for at the Last Supper? I think we will have to disagree about this. You apparently believe that Christ left us orphaned with no authority but each man's flawed opinions and his personal interpretation of the will of God based on his interpretation of scripture. I believe God left us a Father, an authority, Peter, to whom He gave the keys of the kingdom. "What you bind on earth will be bound in heaven." We currently have an abusive father, not for the first time in the history of the Church, but that doesn't change the reality of Christ's Church on earth. Even though Holy Mother Church is infected with the virus of evil men, the Holy Spirit continues to guide and protect her. And He sends his Holy Mother to us as He did at Fatima. I recommend reading the lives of the saints, especially the martyrs. People don't die for a "papal system."

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm sure we both know the millions who died during the dark ages. The great reformation was to repair the wonderful sanctuary message that rhe Roman Papal system had distorted through men who were lead by Lucifer the great deceiver. The sanctuary message that shows the plan of salvation each article and what it represented was being destroyed and God raised up different organizations over those years to repair what had been distorted by the Roman Catholic Church. I'm sure it's hard for anyone to see how this is a message of love. I was born into a Catholic home and had Catholicism on both sides of my family. I simply would rather follow God and the truths contained in his scriptures versus the tradition of men. As far as Peter he was a wonderful apostle however the church is and always will be built on Christ. The word rock Jesus used in describing Peter was petros meaning a small rock that could actually be moved very easily. We know the story of Peter sinking on the water and denying Christ three times. He had a lot of growing to do and Christ knew that. I have no problem reading any book but I wonder if you would give the book The Great Controversy written by Ellen White a prayerful read. Takes one from the fall of Lucifer all the way to the return of Christ for his church that will be compromised of all who will except his message for these end times. I believe his church will be compromised of people from all walks of life perhaps some who will hear the three angels message shortly before he comes. What a wonderful Savior we have in Jesus! As far as Mary she certainly was a blessed woman to be chosen to be the mother of Jesus however no where in the scriptures are we told to pray to her or the saints. We have one mediator between us and God as that is our Redeemer Jesus. How careful we will need to be in these end times when the scriptures let us know Lucifer will impersonate Christ and know doubt he has and will use the virgin Mary as well as far as Marian apparitions are concerned. Oh how important it is to have a correct understanding of the state of the dead at this time in earth's history before Christ returns. Satan has and will continue more forcefully to use spiritualism in these last days to deceive many if possible the very elect as the scriptures tell us. Let us keep one another in prayer that we would trust our God in heaven who cannot lie who when we pray will give us correct interpretation of his scriptures that he has so kindly preserved when the dead sea scrolls were found between 1946 and 1947 in those caves in Qumran to furthermore prove they're authenticity.

  15. If the poster had studied Bible prophecy BEFORE making her ignorant claims regarding it AND knew Bill Hughes or had even met him - AND humbled her arrogance long enough to check what he preaches against the Bible and historical facts, she would be amazed to find her false allegations not only grossly inaccurate but unbelievably superficial. She also obviously considers it unimportant that she's here committed slander against a very knowledgeable and truthful Christian. Yet a other evidence of just how UN-Christian rabid Catholicism can be.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Give some specifics, Moongold. Your comment with no backup is useless. When one reports the PUBLIC statements of others and critiques them it isn't slander it's correction. You're demonstrating your own "rabid" anti-Catholic Protestantism here, not surprising since you echo your master Bill Hughes.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm not here to argue the point and of course see no sense in myself trying to give Bible evidence or studies to reveal the truth of what Pastor Hughes (and millions of other Truth-seeking people) have discovered for themselves - especially as these comment spaces are extremely limited. God requires each person to seek and find that Truth individually. If the person is sincere He will guide them in their search but if the response is simply ridicule and unbelief He isn't able to help them - as the Bible says, God will not be mocked. If we wish to mock and ridicule we will reap what we've sown.
I strongly recommend you undertake, with a HUMBLE spirit and prayer, the studies provided by true and faithful Bible students such as Bill Hughes _ prophetic time is running out and you need to obtain an intelligent and accurate understanding of these urgently, particularly if you want assurance and protection for you and other loved ones in what is coming upon the earth. All that is happening now is prophecy fulfilling and you'll find all that Bill is revealing is no petty or personal attack whatsoever - he's simply trying to warn others before it is too late. All of this will be easily confirmed as what in fact GOD HIMSELF has provided for our edification in His Word, which itself reveals the correct interpretation when studied correctly. As it says, no personal or 'private'interpretation can or will reveal that correct understanding - it has to be done in a accordance with the Lord's instructions, which He provides freely to every honest seeker. I pray you will open your heart and mind to receive it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I always appreciate prayers and I'll pray for you also that you will find the fullness of the truth which lies in the Church Christ founded, the Catholic Church. It's a little hard to see that with the current pope sitting in the chair of Peter, but Jesus chose a traitor to be an apostle so that we would not be scandalized when leaders in the Church betrayed us. "I strongly recommend that YOU undertake with a HUMBLE spirit and prayer, the studies of true and faithful bible students" such as the Fathers of the Church, St. Ignatius of Antioch for example who was martyred in the coliseum circa 140 A.D. only 50 years or so after the death of the last apostle. He wrote famous letters on the way to his execution which took place long before the canon of the Bible was ever put together. BTW, the Bible as we know it today was only collected in the 300s by the Catholic Church. Where was the "Lord's instruction" coming from before that? In view of the fact that there are thousands of Protestant sects all following their own "private interpretation" of the Bible with major disagreements, I find your comment somewhat head-shaking. Every protestant is his own pope unless, of course, he follows a leader like Pastor Hughes who becomes his personal pope unless he becomes disillusioned and looks for a different one.

    ReplyDelete
  19. As I said, not here to argue back and forth about your personal incorrect views of scripture - hopefully you will take them to the Lord and ask for His enlightenment & guidance.
If you're sincere about your hope of salvation and are willing to be taught by Him and yield pre-conceived & erroneous ideas, He will answer. The Christian's religion is to be based on what God says, not what ANY created, finite human being may claim - especially
When those claims contradict His Word.

    ReplyDelete
  20. If you weren't here to go back and forth, you wouldn't. At least be honest. "If you're sincere about your hope of salvation and are willing to be taught by Him and yield pre-conceived & erroneous ideas," you would turn to the Church Christ founded on the rock of Peter instead of to your personal pope, Pastor Hughes. If you disagree about the "personal interpretation" of Scripture with another member of your Church, I presume you go to your pope, Pastor Hughes. He seems to be your authority. Mine is the Scripture, Tradition, and Doctrine taught unerringly for two millennia and passed on through the Church. Protestants all claim Scripture for their widely divergent views on marriage and sexuality, abortion, etc. We have the unchanging teaching of the Catholic Church. Your house is built on shifting sand.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ha! No, afraid not! My salvation is based on my personal relationship with my Savior Jesus Christ and sound Bible study - not on any church's or any other mere fallible human being's claims. Christ ALONE 'changes not', as scripture tells us. Also had to laugh at your claim to have the 'unchanging teachings of the Catholic church'!! What a hoot! Your church and it's popes change doctrine and teachings with every turn of the wind - according to their own whims and fancies - and they have done so for centuries.

    ReplyDelete
  22. You are clearly ignorant about the Catholic faith, not to mention the origin of the Bible and the fact that the Apostles taught from Tradition their entire lives since there was NO Bible only the Jewish texts and loose documents like the letters of St. Paul, St. Peter, etc.

It was only in the 4th century at the Synod of Rome (382) that the Bible was assembled and approved under Pope Damasus. So you are using a Bible approved by a Catholic pope and the bishops in union with him. You're bible is defective, however, because Martin Luther and other Protestants pulled out books they had problems with like 1 and 2 Maccabees, portions of Daniel and Esther, etc.

You don't seem very knowledgable. You haven't presented a single FACT to uphold your statements. Your claim that the Church has changed its doctrine is wrong. The Didache was teaching abortion is sinful in the first century and the Church still teaches that day while Protestants are all over the place and some even support infanticide. Protestants are the ones who change. They opposed contraception until the Lambeth Conference of 1930 and then caved like dominoes. It was ironic since the anti-contraception laws on the books were all established by a Protestant majority Congress. Do you know anything about history? Apparently not.

You appear to be a rabid anti-Catholic to boot, just like Pastor Hughes and "Abe" (a friend of yours?) who sent a tirade of vicious comments that I chose not to post. You've had your say and as you said, since you are not interested in a back and forth, and you clearly aren't interested in intelligent debate, you're done here. I will not post any more of your comments.

  23. I have met Bill Hughes and he is a vicious anti Catholic who has made millions from his hatred of the a Catholic Church.

He pretends to be nice.....haha haha hahaha!!!!! He is a viper.

Look at the figures in the article about his property ownership. Actually look it up on the internet yourself because in Florida its public record. Go to Lake County Property Appraiser to see for yourself. Seventh day Adventists follow their woman pope, Pope Ellen White, who channelled the devil.

  24. Bill Hughes is also a liar since on his website he LIED about me.

    ReplyDelete
  25. First, I thought you said your and my communication was 'done?' It seems that only applies until YOU wish to speak! Typical. However, second, to do justice by my friend Bill Hughes - one thing Bill most definitely is not, as anyone knowing him will testify, is a liar - YOU are the one lying and making false allegations - and, to boot, without ANY evidence whatsoever! It's amazing how very blind you are to the devil's work you're doing, while claiming to be 'Christian'. You don't seem to realise what a fool you're making of yourself! You're very obviously not interested at speaking, or trying to find truth - all you want to do is agitate and stir up what you blindly and ignorantly (and so arrogantly!) accuse others of having if they 'dare' speak the truth against the false claims you make - i.e. blind, prejudiced, HATE. And you are, again, committing defamation of someone you don't know and haven't even MET! And that is simply and only, truly PATHETIC! Perhaps you need to be reminded that we're not all stupid 'out here' - that your vitriolic personal attacks on Bill are recognised clearly as being just that, and are tedious and boring. As to some other claims (a) your catholic Bibles are corrupted versions (altered by the Jesuits) and when put next to the Received Text (today's King James version) reveal their blatant errors. (b) likewise, the actual historical records have and are being altered and rewritten to 'fit' and support only catholic dogma. (c) you've therefore been taught and trained by this very closed and boxed-in system that neither TRUE scripture, as given by Christ, nor TRUE history in fact, upholds. (d) Your claim that the catholic Church is the church Christ founded is incorrect. The 'Rock' Jesus described to Peter was referring to Himself - the Greek for 'Rock' is Petra, and the Greek for the name 'Peter' is 'petros', meaning a small stone or pebble. 'Petra' is the word used where Jesus said 'upon this Rock I will build My church' He was merely acknowledging 'petros' as being 'Peter's name but clarifying by making this 'name comparison' that of course no mere fallible human being or disciple could or would be head of the Christian Church - of course Christ is the only Being fit or worthy to be Head of His church. This is further emphasised by the fact that Jesus just a few texts further on in the same chapter called Peter 'Satan' as his perception, was a mere human one and he was making sinful and incorrect assumptions of what Jesus had said. Further, Apostolic succession did not even commence until some 300 years after Peter was dead. so it can hardly be claimed he, was the Christian church's first 'Head', or. 'Pope'! As you can see, your erroneous claim that I don't know anything about the catholic religion is in fact incorrect - and there is Much more than just these few points. The truth is YOU in fact know very little of the REAL truth regarding it and, with your hope of eternal life being the Real concern here, I strongly again recommend Bill's studies to you. You surely realise what he is teaching (and, he's only one of many doing so!) is not just some 'personal view' of these matters - it's simply what the TRUE and accurate scriptures teach. As Bill himself states, it's not about him or you, or me - it's about finding Truth and escaping the DECEPTIONS that have been (for centuries) and still are being taught in our world. As there's not much time left I urge you again to study BIBLE PROPHECY, before it is too late.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Susan and I are not the same person, Moongold. You need to read a little more carefully.

And once again you've posted an avalanche of words without a single bit of evidence to back up your claim, especially the laughable one that the Jesuits rewrote the Bible, and are responsible for every other evil in the world. You are the personification of the Black Legend which is a massive tinfoil hat conspiracy theory.

The person who looks foolish here is you. And it's you who has taken a mere human as your Jesus and your pope -- Pastor Hughes. Your statement about apostolic succession is false and ignorant. Every Catholic bishop can trace his lineage back to one of the 12 apostles. All the popes of the first 300 years were martyrs. Somehow that looks a little different from your millionaire "pope" Bill. Unlike Jesus who had nowhere to lay his head, Pastor Bill lives in opulence. Hey, I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with his hateful attacks on the Catholic church and his head-shaking bigotry against the Jesuits.

I suggest you follow your own advice and look for the TRUTH which is pretty darn scant in Bill Hughes teachings and in your comments as well. Why you decided to go after an almost four-year-old post is beyond me, but thanks for giving us another opportunity to expose a false shepherd. More to come.

  27. Moongold, I will be writing a NEW post (this one is 4 years old) in the next few days which will be posted on Les Femmes, so please check the blog for that. Please note that I said that I HAVE MET Bill Hughes in person since you think that is such a big deal and would change my mind about him and the Catholic Church. Meanwhile you have neither met me nor Mary Ann so I'm not sure what "meeting someone" is all about since you seem to find tossing fallacious comments our way is OK for you but not for us, even though I have met Hughes in person.

Therefore, the comments on this 4 year old post are now closed, but you may continue commenting on the NEW CURRENT post that I am writing and which will post soon..
